14 year old who attempted to steal from Vinnies and Dominos in custody

At approximately 3 pm on Monday afternoon, a young male entered the St Vincent de Paul Society shop on Hurst St in Bridgewater, armed with a large spanner. The youth then demanded money from staff, before leaving empty handed.
The young male then proceded in to Bridgewater’s Big Bargain Bottle Shop and attempted to steal alcohol, before again threataning staff with a hammer and leaving.
The young male then entered the nearby Domino’s Pizza outlet in Bridgewater, and threatened staff with a spanner before leaving with a small amount of cash.
Police attended the scenes and as a result of investigations conducted, a 14 year old youth was arrested and has been charged with robbery offences.
He will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court (Youth Justice Division) on Tuesday the 1 October 2019.
Detective Sergeant Michael Foster has said ‘while no one was physically injured during the incidents, the fear and apprehension caused to the victims was considerable’.
